Water Wise Tips

With the current drought in the Western Cape, we at The Oystercatchers’ Haven have compiled a list of tips for you to save water during your stay with us and travels here in South Africa.

This classic ‘soap and save’ method means turning on the shower, dancing around to get wet and switching it off again whilst you lather up your hair singing along to your favourite song – we all do it, no judgment. Once you’re all foamy, switch the shower on again, rinse and repeat for your conditioner and body wash.

We have placed buckets in all our showers and having a bucket in your shower means any water caught will be used by us. We water our gardens with this grey water! And some our guests have gone as far as too use this water  to flush their loo’s. So remember the new catch phrase in Cape Town, if its yellow let it mellow …
